Birthday!

So needless to say, I have some catching up to do....I'll try to keep it short and sweet....

Welcome Scarlett Marie! Went to the doctor that Monday afternoon to find that our breech baby was trying to make an appearance, so Dr. G said we would be having a birthday the next day....

Welcome to the world Scarlett Marie!
4/24/12

Dr. G guessed she would be 6 lbs. 6 oz.....

 He was close!

6 lbs. 7.5 oz
18.9 inches long

Our amazing OB, Dr. G! He is the reason we may have more babies one day :)

First family photo!

Sweet snuggles :)

The Latest and Greatest

So I'm happy to report that Phil and I will likely one day be rich off our child because apparently she is going to be an amazing gymnast.....

WHY you ask?

Because suddenly she is breech again! So yeah, gymnast, and probably stubborn (can't imagine where she gets it from?!). :)

C-section scheduled for April 30th!! Ready to meet her already....pretty sure my "bump" is about to fall off too, so it's getting to be that time!

Hospital Tour!

So we spent part of our afternoon touring the hospital where we will deliver Baby Martin....what a surreal experience!  Sent me into freak-out mode a little to realize that it's just around the corner that we will finally get to meet Baby Martin!

Two weeks people! Getting real!!

You know that "Uncomfortable stage" everybody mentions....

Yeah. That hit officially this week.  Yesterday I noticed that the top of my "bump" was feeling more stretched and the bottom was feeling more heavy....well I guess little one has set up camp a little further south then she has been because everybody has been commenting (and I have been feeling) that she "dropped."

And I guess with dropping comes swelling because my poor feet have finally reached that point.  :(  I am not good at resting and putting my feet up so this should be a new journey for me to learn!

Intriguing...

So had a friend (who I haven't seen in a while) tell me today that there's no way I am making it to my due date....which seems to be a popular opinion overall....

When I ask why she thinks that, she tells me that her aunt called it with her right before both of her girls were born because her lips "plumped up"--not like ugly plump I don't think, but like voluptuous plump.

Interesting....guess we shall see!

Maternity Photos

So we decided we would document "the bump" for this first go-around....here are the awesome pictures our photographer Ryan Lundberg took (same photographer that took the engagement pictures of Phil and I with 8 week old baby Rawlin).....

Enjoy!

Fair warning....there are some bare belly shots!

And let's get caught up a little more....Baby Shower!

So time flies when a baby is on the way....that is, unless it's your baby and you're pregnant.  In that case, it feels like time stands still.  But on the plus side, you get to have fun putting together the room and celebrating the future arrival of the newest (and likely cutest) edition.

And you learn exactly how awesome your family is because they put together the most amazing baby shower (thank you Michele and Casey!!).

The bump....again, much smaller then it is right now!

The beautiful basket Michele made that matches her room (pics of that to come later!).  It's full of socks, mittens, wash cloths, pacifiers....all sorts of fun goodies!

The beautiful, and yes, yummy cupcakes and awesome diaper cake (props to Megan for that one!)

Four generations....Grams, mom, me and baby girl!

I think people enjoyed buying adorable girl stuff!

The lovely ladies from Phil's side of the family.....including my beautiful hostesses :)

Let's Get Caught Up...a little

So rewind about 34 weeks....

Ok, no don't rewind that far....that's not for public knowledge! How about we rewind to November when we had our first glimpse at what finally looked like an actual baby in there!  The good news was that baby was healthy and chances of chromosomal disorders were at the best they could possibly be!

Perinatologist wouldn't give us a guess at what we were seeing, but a week later my OB and his ultrasound tech did, so we had to keep a secret until our anatomy scan confirmed we were having a girl!

Here's an outside bump picture from that week....

Christmas (21 weeks--half way there!)

Wow I look small in this picture compared to where I am now!  More catching up to do later :)

And in a few weeks comes baby....

So we decided to create this blog in hopes of keeping everybody up to date on the comings of Baby Martin.  Right now I am 34 weeks along but I'm pretty sure I look like I could pop at any moment!  We are excited to have Baby Girl join our family on the outside, but can definitely wait a few more weeks to have her here (keep cooking little one!).

Keep checking here for updates and eventually pictures of our newest edition--Mini Martin :)
